Growing up in Enumclaw and the surrounding communities of Washington State gives you a unique appreciation for just how special this place truly is. Nestled in the shadow of Mt. Rainier, Enumclaw has a character all its own—one that is deeply rooted in natural beauty, changing seasons, and a slower pace of life.

Ironically, it took moving away, years of traveling, and eventually returning home to fully appreciate what had been here all along. There really isn't any place quite like home. It was this appreciation for the Pacific Northwest—and for the place I have always considered home—that became the inspiration behind Enumclaw Candle Company and the collections you'll find throughout our website.

After nearly a 25-year hiatus from making candles, I decided a few winters ago, simply for the fun of it, to see if I could recreate a handful of favorite fragrances from well-known candle brands. What began as a personal challenge to "crack the scent codes" quickly became something much more. I found myself fascinated by the art and science of fragrance. Before long, I was no longer trying to duplicate scents—I was creating my own. What started as a hobby for my own enjoyment gradually evolved into a passion for designing luxury candles that I was genuinely proud to display throughout our home. Looking back, it's hard not to wonder if this was a journey I was meant to begin more than twenty years ago.

As friends and family began seeing my candles around the house, they naturally asked if they could have one of their own.
The answer wasn't as simple as saying yes. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I have a difficult time overlooking even the smallest details, and when it comes to products that involve an open flame, those details matter.

Long before I ever considered offering candles for sale—or even giving them away as gifts—I spent countless hours researching candle performance, testing waxes, experimenting with fragrance formulations, evaluating wick performance, and studying industry safety standards. I wanted complete confidence that every candle I shared would burn consistently, perform beautifully, and meet the expectations I had set for myself.

Today, every fragrance and every candle released by Enumclaw Candle Company is carefully documented, thoroughly tested, and evaluated before it ever becomes part of a collection. Detailed formulation records are maintained, interval burn tests are performed, and our products are designed to meet applicable CPSC and ASTM safety standards. We also provide safety information both on our labels and throughout our website because we believe customers deserve transparency and confidence in the products they bring into their homes.

That same philosophy extends beyond safety. We believe luxury should never come at the expense of honesty. Our candles are thoughtfully crafted using premium ingredients that are clean-burning, phthalate-free, paraben-free, and designed to be enjoyed safely when used as directed. We believe customers should know exactly what they're purchasing and why it was made the way it was.
