Being from Enumclaw and growing up in surrounding areas of Washington State really gives a sense of just how special the town in which we live truly is. It is a beacon of it's own. It took moving to different states, years of traveling to different locales and finally coming back to Enumclaw to realize there really isn’t any place quite like home.

It is our beautiful location of Enumclaw that inspired the concepts of our collections and scents. After taking a near
25 year hiatus from crafting homemade candles, only a few winters ago and just for fun, I went on a quest to "crack the scent codes" on various favorites of mine from other candle brands. Soon after, I found myself falling in love with the world of fragrance and began creating my own formulations. All this was meant originally to be for my own enjoyment and personal consumption, however it didn’t take long before I realized my quest for a few beloved scents had turned into a passion for high quality and luxury candle making. Perhaps a journey I should have set out on 20+ years ago?

It wasn't long after placing a few of my beautifully handcrafted scented candles around our home, that I decided I wanted to share my work with my friends and family.
However, being the type A personality that I am, I didn't want to share anything that hadn't been rigorously tested for consistency and, above all, safety!
​
Since I have a tough time looking past minor details, the detail of a candle being safe to burn seemed to be glaringly important, especially if my creations were to be given to people in my life whom I care about. There was a period of time I decided it wasn't worth even sharing my candles just as gifts, let alone sell them without performing extensive product tests and complying with the CPSC and ASTM safety standards. I now keep records of every formulation and perform interval test burns for every batch and also include safety warning labels on our products and our website to ensure customer confidence and promote safe use when burning candles anywhere.

At Enumclaw Candle Co. we believe that transparency about products being offered to the public is pinnacle and we not only make it a top priority, we genuinely take pride in being able to claim that our candles are non-toxic, clean burning, phthalate and paraben free and completely safe to use under normal circumstances.
